Check out this compilation of free college courses over at lifehacker.
I watched the first 50-minute lecture of Yale's "Introduction to the Old Testament" course yesterday and was thoroughly impressed by the video quality and the content. I would have watched the second lecture except that I have to pace myself: I have plenty of responsibilities, which now include this puppy from the Animal Rescue League.

Her name is Cokie or Coqui or Coqi. Her name is short for Coquina, which my girls think is sooooo perfect because coquinas are cute little mollusks we find at the beach (relationship to puppies? not sure). I want to spell it Cokie as a wink to Curt, because of his odd little crush on Cokie Roberts.

I was excited to find a link to Open Yale Courses via MetaFilter this morning.
Participants won't receive college credit, but they will receive course lectures, a syllabus, and even a copy of exams for free online (though this is strictly an audit experience--no grades, no exams to submit, nobody to review your work).
I'm interested in "Modern Poetry" and "Introduction to the Old Testament." There are six other courses from which to choose, with about 30 more to be added in the next three years.
